Skin Routine!

Hey guys! So for my first blog post, I'm going to show you my skincare routine!
So, I know we all want to have perfect, glowing skin for summer and I'm going to show you the products that I use to achieve that! Just a small disclaimer, these products might not work for everyone, and they definitely wont work straight away, so just be patient!

Now, for the actual products. First lets start with cleanser. Deep cleansers are so important for getting rid of acne as they really deep clean your skin and remove any excess sebum and oils that can cause spots. A cleanser that I've been loving, and the brand in general, is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel. Since it's a gel, its perfect for people with oily skin, like myself. It is also paraben-free, making it gentle on sensitive skin. I like to put about a coin sized amount on my fingertips and lather with some water. Rub, gently, onto your face in circular motions and then rinse off. Seriously, when I wash this product off, it leaves my skin so soft and clean. I cleanse my face every morning and evening. Most chemists would sell La Roche-Posay products but I got mine from Boots for €14.49.

After I've done that, I use a vitamin C serum. I had never known that vitamin C is really good for your skin until a skin specialist had told me. Unfortunately, the label on my bottle fell off so I cant tell you the brand but if you search for pure active Vitamin C serum, any brand will do. Another thing that the specialist told me is, while I treat my body with Vitamin C from the outside, I should also treat it from the inside. So, she sent me up to Tesco to get some Vitamin C tablets and they are super cheap. I think I got three bottles for €3. I take two tablets with my breakfast every morning and I tend to only use the serum once a day, in the moring, as it can make my skin a bit dry if I use it too often. And also, it is expensive so I dont want to waste it!

When I have a spot, I never put any of those spot creams on it because out of the endless products Ive used, none of them have worked. For this reason, Ive been put off using spot creams. I usually just wash my face as normal and leave the spot alone. (That means no squeezing!) Just leave the spot to go away on its own.

After cleaning my face, I just use the basic products like Benefits Its Potent! eye cream, some Vaseline for my lips and moisturiser for my eczema.

A good thing that Ive noticed when I made my skincare routine, is to change up the products every once in a while. If you use the same products day in, day out, your skin starts to get used to it and it eventually stops helping your skin. So once or twice a week, I like to change my cleanser for an exfoliating cleanser. Exfoliaters are a must to getting clear skin. They lift the dead skin and oil on your skin and stops your skin drying out, like it usually would when you have acne-prone skin. The exfoliate I use is the St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub. It is made especiallu for oily/blemish prone skin and it smells so good! It also contains salicylic acid, which can help bring down spots.

As I said, I only like to use my vitamin C serum in the morning, so at night, I use a moisturiser to bring moisture back into my face over night. The one I use is the Éminence Clear Skin Probiotic Moisturizer. I love using this straight after Ive exfoliated, especially, because it leaves my skin as smooth as a babys bum!

So, that was very detailed skincare products blog post! I hope this has helped you and can help you conquer acne! Just remember to take care of your skin all the time, and clean your brushes straight after you have used them to avoid spreading bacteria.

 See you soon,

       Megan :) x
